Description of Venue: The Snake Valley community hall sits in a peaceful rural setting 31 km from Ballarat and 144 km from Melbourne. Originally a gold rush town, Snake Valley's main industry today is farming. The town features a range of heritage buildings, including several churches. The Snake Valley hall was built in 1926, and has undergone a series of upgrades since 2004.

A main feature of the hall is a large stage with two electrically heated rear change rooms, lighting, PA and stage curtain. Together with excellent acoustics, the hall is ideal for performances, both amateur and professional.

Currently the hall houses the local maternal health clinic, and hosts regular events such as exercise class, CERT meetings, youth group, Anzac Day Service, fundraising luncheons for CFA, CERT & the Luekemia foundation, a bi-annual Photography exhibition and Melbourne performances once a year. The hall is ideal for private functions including weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, Christmas parties and funerals.

The main hall is large, and can be further enlarged by opening the bi-fold doors through to the supper room, which features a servery from the kitchen. When closed the supper room is an intimate space for smaller gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped with ample bench space for the preparation of food, and a large serving window. Facilities include crockery, cutlery, fridge, microwave, 2 commercial stove and ovens, and a bain marie. Local catering is also available through Ann Singleton who can be booked by telephone on 0458 470 292.

The hall, supper room and meeting room are all heated with either electricity of gas, and the main hall has blinds on the windows. A commercial dishwasher is also included.

The grounds of the hall feature a fenced children's playground, picnic tables and free electric BBQ. There is also a 'food forest', made possible via funding, which local residents can access at any time.

There is off street parking for up to 100 cars.
