Description of Venue: Lyonville is a fast growing little town with a thriving community, combining long term locals and city folk who have relocated, seeking a tree change. This has been a successful partnership as both see the need for the other and have a common goal. Tourists on their way to Daylesford via Woodend pass through Lyonville and thanks to the growing popularity of The Radio Springs Hotel, Lyonville is starting to gain a reputation as the place to be.
The local community currently hosts the annual Woodchop (first Saturday in February), Cake Bake Off (October) and Harvest Festival (April). The hall also hosts art classes and yoga classes. The Lyonville Hall is a quaint, classic wooden country hall. It was lovingly renovated a few years ago and now boasts a spacious kitchen with dishwasher, convection oven, fridge and double sink.
The main space is of an intimate size: at capacity it seats roughly 100 people. The small stage has a proscenium arch and wooden floor. It is perfect for live music as the acoustics are excellent. On site, there are 60 plastic chairs and six wooden benches which are perfect for outside entertaining. There is currently no lighting or theatrical equipment for hire. Two effective split system air conditioners ensure the hall is comfortable during the cold Lyonville winter or a hot summer day. The grounds are large with maintained lawns, outside toilet block (including disabled access toilet) and a children's playground. Accommodation is available in Lyonville and nearby Bullarto, making the hall a perfect venue for weddings.
