Description of Venue: A large historic wooden hall in the quaint Pyrenees town of Lexton. It has a ante room and large open hall space with a stage. There is a supper room (or staging room) out the back. The kitchen is large and fully equipped for catering events.

6 December 1894 the town held a public meeting to look into creating a public hall for Lexton. They purchased the Doctors Creek School and moved it to Lexton to use as the hall in 1899 when the Doctors Creek School was moved to Lexton as the new public hall.

A Valley of The Finest Description - A History of the Shire of Lexton by Margaret Oulton tells us that:

"Over the years it has been the venue for everything from Roller Skating Carnivals in the first two decades of the twentieth century to Lexton's first moving picture show which was about the Boer War; Saturday night dances the annual round of Balls, Minstrel Shows and special occasions such as anniversaries of Community groups and Horticultural Shows. The Infant Health Centre also operated from one of the ante-rooms, having opened in 1958"

It has seen dances and balls to engagement, birthday and anniversaries parties. Regular events like Cuppa with a Councillor, movie nights, auctions, workshops and BBQs are held in the hall.

Access: Wheelchair accessible for the audience. However there are stairs onto the stage for performers.

Toilets: A men's and ladies bathrooms with 2 toilets in each plus a urinal in the men's. Both have lovely large waiting rooms with mirrors, basins and coat hooks, as well as a change table.

Kitchen: The large kitchen include domestic stove, microwave, urn, instant hot water, crockery and cutlery. It also has a large clear double door fridge and pie warmers. There is access from carpark as well as into the hall. There is a counter with a roller door into the hall as well as another window with roller into the supper room.

Stage: The original ornate stage is framed with a large floral carved picture frame in gold, and has maroon stage curtains. There is a piano on the stage.
