Description of Venue: The Buninyong Brewery is a charming bluestone building built as a brewery in the 1850's and now adapted as a private home and surrounded by attractive shady garden. It overlooks a small lake, The Gong and is close to the Botanic Gardens and within walking distance of the Buninyong shopping centre.
The Brewery is available for hire for concerts, workshops, weddings and other functions. The owner also organises occasional concerts, fund-raisers and other arts events. It has a large central room (c 12 X 6 metres) and has accommodated as many as 90 for sit-down meals. It is a quiet spot and well suited to small chamber music concerts, music workshops and private parties.
In March 2012 one of Ballarat Arts Alive's Art Sparks events was held here, with arts activities in the garden and the main room, and a BBQ feast. Around 80 people attended.
Types of events which are run/held: Concerts, poetry readings, installations, exhibitions, arts parties, weddings. Several ukulele workshops for around 20 have also been held here. Three artists exhibited here for a month for the 2011 Ballarat International Foto Biennale.
