I think of my art as visual poetry. Through deep layering of concepts it becomes a conversation about our emotional responses to the environment, community and human connections. I use a digital space as my studio. Layering photography, drawing and graphic elements to create art as works on paper and 3D pieces. In recent years I have been working with freestanding or wall mounted acrylic. These works emulate layers within Photoshop. This allows my process to reflect concepts of abstraction & spirituality. I make art to feed my soul, to give beauty and meaning back to the world, to share with my community. As an artist, I strive to create art that transcend the ordinary and ask my audience to think, consider and react.
In 2016 I was delighted and humbled to exhibited in the up and happening, Artifact on Orchard Rd in Lower East Side, New York City. I feel like I have stepped up into a brave new world where my art practice is validated. I am also a finalist for the prestigious Bowness Photo Prize at Monash Gallery of Art.
