Ellen Sørensen

Danish/New Zealand born artist Ellen Sørensen creates tiny hand cut interiors and installations out of paper.

Storytelling plays a central part in her works which range from light box dioramas and wall hangings, to projection and moving image. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, most notably an illustration for Nick Cave’s ‘Where the Wild Roses Grow’ in The Great Australian Songbook (2010). You may see her light works on display should you attend a ‘Shadow Feet’ show (the artist’s musical alter ego) where she regularly displays her visual work during live performances.
Ellen Sørensen is a multimedia visual artist. Specialising in the art of paper cutting, she implements light and shadow to create depth and context in her multidimensional installations.

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Howard Thurman
