- Creative Sector Education, Multimedia, Visual Arts
- What I'm looking for Collaboration, Exhibition Opportunities, Networking, Retail Space, Skill Sharing, Workshops
Susan began printmaking while studying a teaching degree at ACU 2004 – 2007. She completed many other music units but found that she was drawn to the Visual Arts. This gave her the grounding to be an Art Specialist and explore her creativity in a new way, through primary teaching and in her own practice. She also attended a number of night classes at Federation University with Jimmy Pasakos. Susan has completed art units online, including printmaking, through OUA with Curtin University. She regulary attends GrampianArt session to improve her print knowledge and has attended workshops with Basil Hall, Gary Shinfield, Kylie Watson, Gaye Nieuwenhof, & Irene Pagram.
Never afraid to try new ventures and keen to encourage printmaking to all ages, Susan now runs printmaking classes at a local neighbourhood centre and workshops for small groups. She sells privately and promotes printmaking where-ever possible and can be seen volunteering at Anderson’s Mill, Smeaton during the National Trust weekends as the Artist in Residence, running printmaking activities for children.
Susan has participated and won prizes in a number of exhibitions and enjoys the opportunities with her involvement with Goldfields Printmakers, GP Arts Inc, Pyrenees Arts Council, South West Makers and Ballarat Society of Artists Inc.
