Currently I am working on a new collection of landscape works in oils, which are inspired by Victorian and Tasmanian landscapes.

Artist Bio and CV

After obtaining a First Class Joint Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Warwick in the UK, and a year in Florence studying art history, drawing and Italian literature, I completed post-graduate studies including a PhD. I taught a range of subjects across the arts and universities in the UK and Australia. I produced regular arts coverage for the press, whilst developing my art practice. I have exhibited and sold works in Melbourne and regional galleries and shows for over a decade. After moving interstate several times, and living in Melbourne with my husband and three daughters, we have settled in Ballarat.

Stella's studio is in Haddon, just outside Ballarat. Stella is mainly a landscape painter, although her practice includes figurative work. Her next exhibition is at Metropolis gallery in Geelong, and it focuses upon coastal landscapes. This collection explores those environments where the edge of the land meets the ocean, and is inspired by locales in Victoria and Tasmania. Stella is also creating a series of local and inland landscapes which are exhibited at. and available from the studio. Blue Stone Cottage Studio in Haddon is open to visitors on Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm.
