Description of Venue: Glenlyon is located in the Hepburn Shire in central Victoria, 10 kilometres north east of Daylesford.
Providing an idyllic lifestyle, Glenlyon is close to Daylesford and within close proximity to the regional centres of Ballarat and Bendigo. The 120+-year-old Glenlyon Hall has long been a proud focal point for the local community.
With its grand facade and position on the avenue in the centre of town, Glenlyon Hall is obviously well loved and cared for in the community. The committee is has a strong sense of ownership and there is a willingness to look after and restore the building. The Hall is home to (amongst other organisations and activities) art and craft groups, Playgroup, Paint Glenlyon.
Glenlyon Hall has recently been upgraded to include a new commercial kitchen and back deck. Inside the hall there are two meeting rooms, a small kitchenette, universal access toilet, as well as an enormous open hall space with reverse cycle aircon. With parking space for approximately 50 cars, the picturesque Glenlyon Hall lends itself to a multitude of events and community activities.
Types of events which are run/held: Art exhibitions, community dinners, community meetings, playgroup activities, weddings/parties/anything (sort of - we have to keep the noise level down and be out by 11pm.
