Lisa G Hunter

Studio is open by appointment.

Lisa G Hunter is a visual artist and writer residing in Dereel, Central Victoria, Australia.

Born in Warrnambool, Victoria, Lisa lived in Melbourne and Ballarat, prior to moving to 15 acres of bushland in 2012. This move led to a shift in creative expression from writing to visual art. Lisa’s photography and digital art is heavily inspired by the bushland around her home. Wildflowers are often at the centre of her work, which includes fabric design.

Recently Lisa is moving into more abstract works in acrylics and mixed media.

Lisa is a certified instructor for  ‘Journal to the Self’ writing program, and  holds a Master of Creative Media (Creative Writing) from RMIT University.

Working in my bushland studio, I have nature all around me. This comes through in my art and writing. Community is also important to me, and I enjoy working with other local artists through Art In Dereel and Golden Plains Arts Inc.
My visual art is intuitive in nature, and informed by the bushland around me. I'm interested in nuances and ambiguities in my writing.
