Schroeter is widely known in the Ballarat region as an abstract artist. Her signature use of minimal abstract forms has developed over many years of studying art and building on her skills in drawing. Drawing is an important part of her practice which developed from a prominent start in painting during her time at Federation University. Whilst Schroeter is influenced by abstract expressionism and minimal art movements her work is linked to the everyday and local environment.
Schroeter explores within her current art practice studies of hand painted wallpaper samples. Her interest in wallpaper designs has developed further through the use of printmaking techniques, being a multimedia artist Schroeter often overlays her prints or incorporates printed marks into her drawings.
Schroeter has a background in arts based research and successfully completed her Master of Arts degree in 2011. Currently she works within the Arts in the Ballarat region within education, local galleries and adult art workshops. Recent exhibitions in 2018 include Indigo Threads at the Post Office Gallery and Wallflower at the Unicorn Lane Gallery, Ballarat.
