Janette Wotherspoon

Janette is a Ballarat based artist and designer specialising in digital art and textile art. Her studio, is set in her backyard and reflects her interest in gardening and inspires her creative endeavours.

Janette has been working and teaching in the fashion and textile industry for more than 25 years more recently as an Adobe software trainer.

Janette initially taught Design Dressmaking and associated programs at Melbourne Institute of Textiles where she also taught the CAD program, Primavision. For the last 14 years Janette has been at RMIT University teaching Adobe software and Computer Aided Design to different course programs within the School of Fashion and Textiles. Janette also conducts specialised training in Adobe software to staff in many Melbourne Fashion and Textile companies through the Shortcourse and Enterprise Training Unit at RMIT.

The completion of the Diploma of Visual Arts at CAE over a 6 year period was highlighted by a major in Sculpture and Minor in Printmaking.
Janette has now combined her passion for Fashion, Textiles and Visual art into developing new fashion and accessories. She has joined into a partnership with Anne Langdon, a well established printmaker and artist to produce a range of screen printed designs that feature original artwork.
