With a theme of “light it up”, this month’s event aims to dispel the midwinter chills with hot spoken word and blazing slam poetry.

The theme is not mandatory, however, and anyone with spoken word, readings or poetry to share can sign up for five-minute spots on the night.

This is a free event (although a gold coin donation is appreciated).

Usually held on the third Thursday of each month at Babushka Bar at 59 Humffray St Nth, 7-9pm, July’s event has moved a week forward to Thursday July 14.
