Unsung Heroes of Australian History
24 May, 2014 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm$20.00
A tribute to the people who have quietly made their mark on this fortunate nation.
Do you know who invented Vegemite?
Who shot Ben Hall?
Who’s got a glacier and a rat named after them?
Who walked around Sydney with a bit of chalk in his pocket?
Who was Australia’s first professional female jockey?
What was Henry Lawson’s mum like?
So many people have quietly made their mark and helped to form this fortunate nation.
Sure, we all know about famous Australians such as Bradman, Hawkie and Warnie … but what about those lesser known lights who have played an equally important part in our history.
Bruce Watson, Moira Tyers and Wendy Ealey invite you to meet some of them at the Glenlyon Shire Hall on Saturday 24th May 2014.
The group are award-winning songwriters and musicians in their own right. They have a passion for Australia’s history and have written fascinating stories about ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.
Unsung Heroes of Australian History will take you on a powerful journey through Australia’s history, exploring and celebrating the life and times of those who have quietly shaped this nation. Come along and be prepared to share some of your own stories about members of your family who may have led an ordinary life but done extraordinary things.
The show is performed with a narration and audio visual display and has received warm and enthusiastic responses from audiences across the nation.
