Bern Barry has been a passionate collector of art for most of his adult life and also a great supporter of emerging artists – but he had never found the opportunity to pursue his own interest in creating work until a sudden retrenchment in 2012. These days the paintbrush is rarely out of his hands!

The Time Of My Life is Barry’s first exhibition, drawing on the images and colours from his many years travelling throughout Australia – and the harshness akin to what he felt in being retrenched.

The Time Of My Life opens in Backspace Gallery on Saturday, 4 October from 2 – 4pm, and continues through 12 October (Thursday – Sunday, 12 – 4pm).
