The Joyful Sound of Africa

02/11/2013 @ 8:00 pm - 03/11/2013 @ 10:00 am

The all-African Choir – St. Paul’s Lutheran Choir – from Shepparton, Victoria is made up of mainly former refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo and from Burundi.  Their home is the S. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Shepparton and that is where they began in 2009.  Most of their repertoire is in Swahili, they also sing in Lingala, Kurundi, and English.  The Choir is very active in the Church and local community, often providing support for new arrivals who often join the choir!  The Choir is very actively involved in multi-cultural community events.  This highly regarded Choir has sung at the Keith Murdoch Oration, the word famous Spiegeltent Gospel Hour Concert and the Victorian Premier’s Gala Dinner.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Choir will be performing in Concert on November 2, 2013, 8.00pm, at the Warracknabeal Town Hall.

On the following Sunday – November 3, they will be sharing their gift of song at Worship at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Scott Street, Warracknabeal, and then joining the gathering for the Annual Longest Lutheran Lunch.

The Longest Lutheran Lunch is simply individuals, families, and communities gathering together around a meal.  It begins in New Zealand and stretches all the way to Western Australia!

This event has secured wide community support, led by the Yarriambiack Shire Council.

We look forward to sharing this event with you!
