Save Civic Hall Garden Party

22 February, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$20

Yes, you are invited to another arts party at the Brewery, and for an excellent cause – to help save the Civic Hall from demolition.

Come along and enjoy the garden and 1850s bluestone brewery, hear Ballarat Ukulele Kollective (full of fun) and Measure 4 Measure (more mellow early and folk music), as well as the wonderful poetry of Nathan Curnow and David Farnsworth. And Chai Lim will launch his new blog, Vex the Story.

For $20 you will also have a choice of cold platters, fruit dishes, tea and coffee. Soft drink will be available for purchase or BYO. Why not also BYO musical instruments & voice for some impromptu music?

Why are we fund-raising? If Council pursues its current desire to demolish Ballarat’s only large flat-floored venue (it seats 1500!) Save Civic Hall will take the battle to VCAT. Although the group has the benefit of some pro bono legal advice, this will be quite costly.

If Council changes its mind and allows the community to use its Civic Hall again, funds raised will go towards an event at the Civic Hall.

Check the issue on Facebook (Save Ballarat Civic Hall) or the Save Civic Hall website.
