Fairbanks Eye Gallery would like to invite you to Retrospective, the latest work from artist Phil Matthews.

Retrospective opens @ 6.00pm, Friday 4 October 2013 and runs to 1 November 2013 inclusive.

Phil Matthews
This exhibition encompasses Phil’s early paintings through to recent prints and mixed-media works which probe his personal, psychological responses. He merges tonal – symbolic colour, meticulous mark making and dreamlike scenarios with personalized semiotic objectives and figurative gesture.

These works map out interpersonal histories and psychologies. There is a key theme of rupture and connection. Nature verses conflicting elements of environs and occupiers. Phil continues to develop unique works of dedicated quality which encapsulate personal observations and interpretations with a modicum of dark humor.
