Paradise: Paintings of Queensland explores distilled glimpses of Regional Queensland’s cultural landscape. Drawing on elements of social realism, each work aims to display the irony of common cultural practices and social situations of the region. The backdrop for each painting acts as a stage for the characters to perform a situation from their everyday lives. Each painting is based upon a memory of an event from my childhood growing up there.
