Meraki Minds
12.30pm-1.30pm
Meraki Minds are a five-piece Ballarat-born indie pop band. They are known for their electric stage presence, jangly guitars, dreamy vocals, and indie-pop anthems. They already know what their sound is – it’s something weird, whacky and a little eclectic. Meraki Minds are active in Victoria’s music scene, opening for the likes of The Chats, Ali Barter, Teenage Dads, and The Velvet Club. In 2023 they released singles and music videos for ‘He Looked Like Summer’ and ‘Paper Vows’ from their debut album, ‘When the Weather was Warm’.
Coda Chroma
2pm-3pm
Coda Chroma (aka Kate Lucas) is an award-winning songwriter from Ballarat. Described as “one of the most innovative and noteworthy musicians in Australia” (Tone Deaf, 2021), Coda Chroma’s music sways between cinematic and baroque pop, with otherworldly harmonies, honest and existential lyrics, suspended in deeply nuanced production. These are songs drawn from personal dreamscapes and real-life encounters, delivering poetic honesty with a nostalgia for the unknown. Kate Lucas works very closely with NZ-born producer Damien Charles on this cinematic Indie-Folk project. Coda Chroma’s third studio album ‘Dreamself’, released March 2023, celebrates the liminal space between awake and asleep, where stories unfold through abstraction and try to make sense of experiences and situations.
Free. No bookings required. All ages.
Eureka Sunday Community Day will also feature children’s activities and live talks. Visit our website for the full schedule of events: https://shorturl.at/hmpS4
