History Live: Melbourne Writers Festival at M.A.D.E

M.A.D.E will be re-imagined as a literary hub, presenting a program of compelling literary events entitled ‘History: Live’.
Audiences will be enthralled by the incredible line up, including Eleanor Catton, International Man Booker prize winner for her book The Luminaries, as the keynote speaker for the Storytelling Gold evening session.
Other illustrious writers appearing throughout the day include Emily Bitto, Ginger Briggs, Graeme Davison, Leah Kaminsky, Maria Katsonis, Maria & Billie Tumarkin, Clare Wright and Murong Xuecun. The sessions will cover various fascinating aspects of history including: DNA Stories, Mother-Daughter History, Historic Truths, How the Internet is Changing China and Forgotten Children.
Come along and satisfy your literary curiosity. Start the day with a free event, discussing the headlines with Matthew Dixon journalist with the Ballarat Courier and M.A.D.E’s Director Jane Smith at an informal coffee and papers session. The program also offers inspirational workshops covering how to write memoirs and family histories.
Between sessions visitors can relax and enjoy the delights of Saltbush Kitchen cafĂ© and explore M.A.D.E’s permanent and temporary exhibits.
