Entangled is a collection of artworks by CharisArt, a group of six local artists, who come together to nourish and support each other’s art practice whilst each working in a different medium. Each CharistArt member brings their personal story of culture and community to the group, each drawing from a diversity of ideas and methods, whilst still holding on to the importance of the group as a whole. This knowledge has extended their creative practice and led each artist to create contemporary art works whilst using traditional techniques passed on from generations of women before them. In this exhibition CharisArt acknowledge the diversity of their practice, medium, their cultures and communities as they unravel the complexities of human connections and entangled existence into a unifying collection of works.
