Chair Making – Perch Stool

During the 3 day course you will learn about working with timber, develop your hand tool skills, you will spend time on the lathe, turning the legs and stretchers for your Perch Stool and carve out the seat using traditional tools. You will lean about chair construction and complete your stool to take home at the completion of the course. Glen’s passionate and focussed approach has earned him the reputation as one of the countries best Windsor chairmakers. Glen was taught the craft of chairmaking in Tennessee USA and has since travelled back to the US to teach and pass on the knowledge that he has gained from over a decade of designing and making . Glen travelled to the UK on a fellowship to further his studies in Windsor Chairmaking and is Fellow of the Artisans Guild Australia. Glen has taught his ‘craft’ in Victoria for over 13 years and seen hundred of chairs leave his workshop to become future heirlooms.
