Brett Jarrett, Wildlife Art Exhibition

05/09/2014 @ 10:00 am - 07/09/2014 @ 4:00 pm

free

Wildlife artist Brett Jarrett will be exhibiting more than forty wildlife paintings at this year’s Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival. Brett has dedicated his entire life to observing and documenting the behaviour and identification of wildlife, in particular marine birds and mammals.

This is a unique opportunity to see one of the country’s leading nature painters and enjoy the realism and anatomy that are at the forefront of his artistic passion, creating subjects that are both authentic and believable. The past three years his work has been accepted by the prestigious Society of Animal Artists for their annual exhibition and national tour in the U.S.A.

A professional artist of twenty three years including work as a guide and field biologist, he has become the most travelled and experienced of Australia’s modern day animal painters while exploring all of Antarctica’s coastline; sailing the entire eastern tropical Pacific and twice reaching the geographic North Pole all in search of rare and exotic wildlife.

Brett has just returned from sailing to the North Pole onboard the world’s most powerful nuclear ice-breaker as a special guest entertaining passengers with his artwork along with painting demonstrations.

All paintings exhibited at the historic Mechanics Institute are oil on canvas and cover a huge variety of wildlife such as whales, dolphins, penguins, albatross, pelicans, swans, zebras, polar bears, koalas and wrens.

During the exhibition Brett will be available to answer any questions about realism painting as well as demonstrating his technique. Exhibition open 10.00am – 4.00pm from the 5th – 7th September, 12th – 14th September in the Supper Room at the historic Mechanics Institute, 81 Mollison Street, Kyneton. For further information on Brett’s exhibition telephone 0415 464 572.
