The Ballarat LoungeRoom brings you a hot night of cool jazz on Friday, 5 June, with the Gian Slater Ensemble, direct from the Melbourne International Jazz Festival; AL Quartet, local electronic-improvisational jazz favourites; and Anna & Rose, emerging contemporary singer-songwriters.

With over 8 albums to her name, Gian Slater is one of Australia’s most sought-after jazz musicians – a pioneering vocalist & inventive composer who has worked as a guest artist with Ben Hauptmann, Paul Grabowski, Kate McGarry, Andrea Keller, Rickie Lee Jones, Mavis Staples & others. Winner of the 2014 Melbourne Jazz Festival Young Elder Composition Commission, Ballarat LoungeRoom offers our audience an exclusive opportunity to experience the resulting work, fresh from its debut at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

Gian Slater is supported by local contemporary jazz favourites AL Quartet, with their unique blend of elctronic loops & live improvisation, and Anna & Rose, emerging contemporary singer-songwriters with a funky folky feel.
