The 2016 Ballarat Winterlude Festival continues with the Ballarat Laneways – Local & Live free live music concerts taking place over TWO BIG NIGHTS, 15 & 16 July, in the warm & wonderful confines of the AGB Annexe on Alfred Deakin Place.

FRIDAY, 15 JULY from 6 – 9:30pm, Ballarat Laneways presents:

GARETH LIDDIARD (The Drones)  Challenging & confronting, frontman Gareth Liddiard brings the anger & despair of The Drones to life, married with a new sense of the absurd and a strong social vision.

GABRIELLA COHEN   Unique songwriter mixing eclectic pop with an honest lyricism, honest-to-goodness charm & powerful performance, Gabriella Cohen is the new cool girl on the block who delivers more than she promises.

FREYA JOSEPHINE HOLLICK    Local favourite now touring on the back of her first 8-track album release, Freya Hollick mixes old-school Cajun music, the blues & 40’s-inspired songs for a distinctive gumbo of alt-folk exploring the common threads of place and of human experience.

GOLD CLASS    Carving a place in the world of late 70’s post-Punk bass & drum, Gold Class bring bristling guitars, attacking drums & a soaring vocal prowess to performances described as “…a frenzy of elements anchored by a deep vibrato sound…”.

THE DEAD SALESMEN DUO     The music treasures of The Dead Salesmen rise again with Hap Hayward & Justin Ryda offering affecting songs that articulate the slings & arrows of life with shimmering melodies & all the hallmarks of the Salesmen’s authenticity.

RHIANNON SIMPSON & THE TRIPLE DELTA    Winner of the 2015 Lazenby Young Blues Guitarist Award, Rhiannon Simpson’s solo & band sets re-define what old-school blues can bring to the party. Critics have likened her music as sitting within the hallowed grove with Bonnie Rait, Albert King, and Jack White.
