In the Passing Of The Miner’s Cottage, artist Jocelyn Reid exhibits paintings she has created over the past decade, documenting the fate of historic miners’ cottages across the Central Highlands & Goldfields Region.

Sometimes lovingly restored, sometimes derelict, sometimes just hanging in there, sometimes only signalled by the remnants of the gardens left behind – these iconic structures are a symbol of the drive to domesticate our region in the search for gold.

The Passing Of The Miner’s Cottage is presented in association with the Ballarat Heritage Weekend, 7 – 8 May.
