10 years is a lifetime in the media cycle, and in arts broadcasting it is equivalent to at least a couple of generations of artists moving from emerging to established, and to arts economies fluctuating from flow to ebb and back again.

Which is why over 16 artists – both local and visiting – are so eager to celebrate the significant birthday of the 99.9 VOICE FM community radio station’s Accessing Arts program.

That and Dave, of course. One of Ballarat’s indefatigable arts warriors, Dave Knowles has been the voice behind Accessing Arts for the past decade. With a background in the performing arts, Dave’s enthusiasms include music, literature and the gamut of visual arts.
