Arts Business Basics – Space: The Final Frontier

24 March, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

A space of one’s own is perennially the quest of both aspiring and established creatives, and is one of the most hotly debated topics in the realm of regional cultural development. For that reason, next up for the City of Ballarat Arts & Culture Unit’s Arts Business Basics initiative is Space: The Final Frontier, a free seminar & facilitated discussion exploring the making, managing, & sustaining of community arts spaces.

We are proud to host a veritable galaxy of community space gurus on the night, including:

Jeremy Gaden    The Substation, Newport

Maggie Maguire   Abbotsford Convent

Tracey McIrvine   Gasworks Art Park

Clive Murray-White   Cowwar Art Space

Danny Lacy   West Space

Shini Pararajasingham   Off the Kerb

Jason Waterhouse & Magali Gentric   The Stockroom, Kyneton

This is an unprecedented opportunity for you to hear the warts-and-all stories and pick the brains of those who have been in the forefront of the movement generating some of Victoria’s most venerable, innovative, accessible, and quality-driven artist spaces.

Space: The Final Frontier is scheduled for Monday, 24 March from 5:30 – 8:30pm in the Museum of Australian Democracy @ Eureka (M.A.D.E.) Theatrette.  M.A.D.E. is located at 120 Stawell Street South, Ballarat. The event is free, but space is limited, so booking is essential at 5333-0333.

ALL ARE WELCOME!
