Opening with the ambient guitar improvisations of groovy Rod Gear – a maestro of fingers & strings who invites you into his kaleidoscopic world of sweet sound.

Continuing with the celebrated jazz / blues vocals & loops of the equally wonderful Geoffrey Williams – a deserved favourite who invokes the funky & soulful, the life-affirming, and the unendingly virtuostic.

Culminating in the sensational 6-hand piano play-off that is PIANO FORT! “What is PIANO FORT?” You might ask…

In this age of novelties, gimmicks & whizz-bang technology, the good old piano can be overlooked, set to the side to collect dust, and gradually left to slide awkwardly out of tune.

PIANO FORT celebrates this extraordinary instrument with a fine selection of local players thoughtfully dragging the piano back into the spotlight.

One by one, each pianist will take charge of this fine machine we call the piano and ignite it with a series of short solo pieces linked together with improvised duets.

Emcee Mick Trembath will take each through their paces, and playing for your delectation are Amie Brulee, Barry Deenick, Rose Turtle Ertler, Michael Westlake, Georgina Williams, and Thomas Williams!
