I have been painting since the 1980’s when I joined a local art group in Avoca tutored by a local high school teacher who encouraged us to paint large and freely.  We had our own local Art Show in which I sold my first paintings.   In 1991 I took a Visual Arts course at SMB in Ballarat and then I explored different media and different styles of painting and drawing.   I joined the Ballarat Society of Artists around 2000 and began to paint in watercolour for a few years eventually going back to acrylics more recently.  I enjoy painting nature in its many forms but I mostly paint the beautiful places I have been as I travel around Australia with my husband in our caravan.  I am particularly fond of the colours and light of the outback and the desert .  I have entered regional art shows and have won a couple of encouragement awards and sold quite a few paintings over the last 10 years or so.  I can be contacted at my email address:  cherylbrdl4@gmail.com
